On March 18, 2024, we gave a special lecture on Japanese corporate culture at HUFLIT.
HUFLIT is a private university founded in 1992 that focuses on international collaboration. They have a Japanese language department, and approximately 80 students are enrolled in this department. In addition to Japanese language, students also learn a wide range of other topics, including Japanese culture, geography, history, and society.
This time, representative Fumio Okita and partner Ayaka Fujiwara gave a lecture on Japanese corporate culture to students majoring in Japanese at HUFLIT. We were able to tell practical knowledge to the students that they can use when they work at Japanese companies after graduation. After the lecture, we received many words of gratitude from the president of the university, the teachers, and the students.
Mr. Okita explained the main points of Japanese-style management in an easy-to-understand way, using comparisons and examples. A fundamental discussion on “What is culture?” was held, and each student’s thinking deepened, leading to a lot of learning. I believe that the students deepened their understanding of the “sampo yoshi’” management style, which is “good for the seller, good for the buyer, and good for society”.
Ms. Fujiwara talked about the key points of export business, using her own experience. Her lecture was focused on the problems faced by Japanese companies in the export business, and she gave some hints to proceed the export business well. During the lecture, she gave many questions to the students, and let them think for themselves and that was a good opportunity for them to expand their image of the export business. The students were able to use this time to expand their dreams for the future.
Our dream is for people around the world to transcend national borders, ethnic groups, and religions, and to build mutual understanding and trusting relationships through work and exchange. This time’s lecture is a step towards realizing that dream. We would like to continue holding special lectures on Japanese corporate culture in Vietnam and other countries around the world.
