Japanese Corporate Culture Class held at Electronics, Electrics and Mechanical Faculty of Lac Hong University, Don Nai, Vietnam March 22, 2024

Following a special lecture in the Class of Japanese Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies on March 20th, our Representative Mr. Okita gave a lecture on Japanese corporate culture to approximately 140 third-year Electronics, Electrics and Mechanical Faculty students at LHU.
Although they are all engineering students, they seemed to have a strong interest in Japanese corporate culture and the Japanese methods and paradigm in works, as there are many Japanese manufacturers locating in the industrial parks near the university and offering them jobs. They looked eager to acquire that knowledge, although the 120-minute lecture was not enough for both students and us.
Mr. Okita made lectures mainly on the following subjects.
– Japanese history outlook on politics and economy
– Traditional Japanese management policy
– Practical understanding of Japanese companies working methods
We had been a bit worried about if engineering students would be interested in the first two items, but we found that many of the students listened attentively and furthermore raised some active questions.

At the end of his lecture, Mr. Okita talked about the idea of “sampo yoshi”, direct meaning of which is enough good for three parties concerned. We will be able to create a better world by working to make everyone involved in our work happy, and extending it to whole people in society and then people all over the world, rather than producing profits for just ourselves. Many of Vietnamese young people looked agreed with the idea “sanpo yoshi” would lead to favorable and desirable future.
In the next opportunity, adding to “Japanese corporate culture,” we would like to create panels on “5S” and “KAIZEN,” which are familiar to engineering students.

Our dream is for people around the world to transcend national borders, ethnic groups, and religions, and to build mutual understanding and trusting relationships through work and exchange. This initiative, together with our partners and many colleagues with the same aspirations and our friends in Vietnam, has become a step towards realizing of our dream. We would like to continue giving special lectures on Japanese corporate culture in Vietnam and other countries around the world.
